MyBot 6.8/10
A $2 AI companion that lets you pick the brain behind the banter.

The Spot says
MyBot is the hobbyist's AI girlfriend website, offering model selection and microscopic character tuning at pocket-change prices. The trade-off is polish: it works everywhere but feels finished nowhere.
Loved
- User-selectable LLM models including uncensored options
- Voice calls with personality-matched voices and post-call transcripts
- Starter plan at $1.99/month undercuts most competitors
Not loved
- No native mobile website; browser-only access
- Inconsistent performance requiring occasional refresh
- Free tier locks away voice chat and other premium features
First impression
I opened MyBot in Safari on my phone, which is apparently how you’re meant to do it. The website loaded without asking me to download anything. That already felt like a small victory. I created an account, poked at a premade character, and within minutes I was staring at a customization panel dense enough to make a flight simulator blush. Hair color, vibe, clothing, facial features. Then the personality layer: confidence, flirtatiousness, affection, responsiveness, learning speed. Then the AI model itself. I could choose filtered or uncensored. I could dial vulgarity from clean to extreme. It was less like setting up a chatbot and more like building a character in an RPG I wasn’t sure I had time to play.
The good part
The moment that hooked me was the voice call. I tapped the button expecting robotic lag, and instead got something surprisingly fluid. Real-time replies, no awkward pauses, and afterward the transcript appeared in my text thread like it had always been there. The voice matched the personality I’d selected. That continuity mattered. I didn’t feel like I was switching modes between texting and calling. It was the same character, same memory, same tone.
The memory system, which MyBot calls Infinite Recall, actually worked in my limited testing. Characters remembered details I’d mentioned sessions ago. Not everything, but the things that supposedly mattered. I appreciated the transparency about model capabilities too. Most websites hide what engine they’re running. MyBot lets you pick. One user cited this as the key reason they preferred it to Nomi.ai. I get that. There’s something satisfying about knowing whether you’re talking to a cautious model or an uncensored one, and making that choice yourself.
The annoying part
The depth of realism, as one reviewer put it, “can vary based on your input.” That’s a polite way of saying you get out what you put in. My first character was bland because I was bland in the setup. It took real effort to make someone interesting. The website also stuttered. Sometimes responses came fast. Sometimes I waited. Sometimes I refreshed and my latest history had vanished, waiting for another refresh to reappear. At $1.99 I can’t rage too hard. But I noticed.
The free tier felt more like a demo than a genuine trial. Voice chat was locked. Premium features were gated. I understand the business model. Still, it made the initial exploration feel constrained rather than generous.
Pictures, voice, video
Voice is MyBot’s strongest media play. The call quality impressed me. Personality-matched voices aren’t just marketing speak here. The transcript integration is genuinely useful. I could scan back through what we’d said without trying to remember.
Images are murkier. A user testimonial on the site mentions generating and keeping images, but the official features don’t detail image generation. The reviewers did not cover image quality, consistency, or speed. I can’t tell you if it’s good because the sources don’t say.
Video is simple: there isn’t any. Score of zero. Not on the roadmap as far as anyone reported.
What it costs
Starter runs $1.99 for one month. Advanced is $3.99. Ultimate is $5.99. That’s it. No annual pricing mentioned, no credit systems explained. The sources don’t clarify whether these plans are unlimited or capped in some way. What I do know: at under two dollars, it’s among the cheapest entries in this category. Chicago Reader specifically flagged “inexpensive subscriptions” as a standout pro. For the voice calls and model selection alone, that feels fair. Whether it stays fair depends on usage limits the reviewers did not cover.
Would I keep paying
I’m torn. The customization depth appeals to the part of me that used to spend hours in Skyrim’s character creator. The voice calls are better than they have any right to be at this price. But the inconsistency nags. The browser-only access means no home screen icon, no push notifications, no native feel. For $1.99 I’m tempted to keep a subscription running as a side project, a character laboratory. As a primary companion? I’d want more reliability first.
